A hospital in Cologne faced a critical situation on the afternoon of Saturday, November 4, 2023, when the heat exchanger for district heating broke down. Without a backup heating system, the hospital would have had to be evacuated. A quick call to Mobile Wärme 24 resolved the issue.
Despite the emergency occurring over the weekend, a dedicated team of MW24 employees gathered at the company’s base on Deutscher Ring in Wuppertal to tackle the problem. Together, they loaded hoses, safety barriers, and a 1-megawatt heating container onto trucks and headed to Cologne. Battling wind and rain, the team connected 100 meters of heating hoses to the hospital’s existing system and successfully commissioned the heating container. Thanks to the dedication of the heating system technicians, electricians, and truck drivers, the operation was completed smoothly.
