Which heating system for heating the screed?
1. Central Heating
Using the central heating system is a common option for heating screed, provided that the heat generator is already installed and can be adjusted according to the manufacturer´s specifications for screed heating.
2. Mobile Heating
If your heating system isn´t installed yet, a mobile heater is the perfect solution. Also, if your home connection is incomplete, using the central system may pose warranty risks. If you use a heat pump as a central heater, you should know that high moisture during screed drying can overload the pump. To avoid these risks, opt for mobile heating.
Benefits of Mobile Heaters for Screed Drying
Mobile heating units can be adjusted to meet manufacturer requirements and often come with standard screed heating programs. Many mobile heaters, like our electric heating units, are programmed according to DIN EN 1264-4 standards.
Benefits of using mobile electric heaters include:
- DIN EN 1264-4 compliance (with additional programmable temperature settings)
- Documentation of the heating process (important for warranty claims)
- Automated heating and cooling processes
- Safe electronical connections with patented technology
- Convenient documentation via USB interface
- Integrated automatic heating demand adjustment
- Soft-start protection to safeguard power grids
- Modern control technology with a multilingual display showing all important parameters
Mobile Heating Options for Screed Drying
Mobile heating units provide a flexible solution, ensuring standardized screed drying and helping prevent construction delays. Thanks to advanced control systems and the ability to document the heating process, mobile units are a professional and secure solution for screed drying, especially in winter when drying is more challenging. They can also keep construction sites frost-free and speed up drying.
Types of Mobile Heaters for Screed
Electric heaters are particularly convenient on construction sites. These compact devices are often mounted on carts, making them easy to transport. Larger heating systems come in trailers or containers, typically powered by oil or propane, offering higher output.
Choosing Between Electric and Fossil-Fuel Heaters
- If electricity is available and the heated area is less than 500 sqm, an electric heater is ideal.
- If no power connection is available, or the area exceeds 500 sqm, consider an oil or propane heater in a trailer or container.
How Much Power Do I Need to Heat Screed?
Below are guidelines for the appropriate heater size based on the area to be heated:
21 kW heater for up to 240 sqm
Best for small areas; powered electrically. If there´s no power connection available, you can also use a heating trailer, which is powered by oil or propane.
36 kW heater for up to 480 sqm
Best for larger areas; powered electrically. If there´s no power connection available, you can also rent a heating trailer and a mobile tank system if necessary.
Other performance ranges and areas are outlined in the table below.
